My artwork is a variety of patterns, shapes, and designs and it is titled “Night Wolf.” The subject matter is a wolf in the woods at night. The most obvious patterns would be repetition, contrast between white and black showing value, and a variety of geometric shapes. I used the methods of ceremonial, timeless, and quality. My artwork was made from a fine point black marker and a stainless steel ruler, with precise measurements and a variety of ideas. I attempted to not plan out my process to see what came to my mind hoping for a stunning outcome out of pure creativity. I looked over a variety of works from other artists to get ideas for inspiration. What really called my attention was the design of checker patterns, which is why I incorporated that in my trees and the fallen tree the wolf is standing on. I tried to incorporate the idea of how in today’s society nobody really stops to appreciate the beauty in nature, not many people appreciate the calmness of life. Through this artwork I wanted to see if I had the ability to achieve a higher standard than I thought I was capable of. I feel like I surprised myself and did fairly well. I learned to never say you are not creative and cannot create art, anything is possible. With this artwork I have set a bar that I will aim to pass every time I am creating a different piece of work.
